Styles

Pop

As a genre, pop music is highly eclectic, often borrowing elements from other styles such as urban, dance, rock, Latin music, rhythm and blues, or folk. However, there are essential elements that define pop, such as short to medium length songs, written in a basic format.

Rock

Rock is a broad genre of popular music originating as rock and roll. It has its roots in the rock and roll of the 50s, a style born directly from genres such as blues, rhythm and blues belonging to African-American music and country. It also drew heavily on electric blues and folk, as well as incorporating influences from jazz and classical music, among other sources.

Glam

Glam rock is a subgenre of rock born in the United Kingdom. It was born at a time when psychedelic rock drifted towards styles that abused virtuosity and long song developments, to the detriment of the freshness that could be found in old rock'n'roll.
